Pada tanggal 7 Februari 2024, SMAN 1 Ponggok mengadakan debat paslon suara demokrasi sebagai bagian dari proyek penguatan profil pelajar Pancasila. Debat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan partisipasi siswa dalam proses demokrasi di Indonesia, serta untuk mengasah kemampuan berbicara, berpikir kritis, dan berargumen secara santun dan beradab. Debat ini diikuti oleh tiga pasangan.
Debat ini dibagi menjadi tiga segmen, yaitu: segmen pertama adalah penyampaian visi dan misi oleh masing-masing paslon; segmen kedua adalah tanya jawab antara paslon dan panelis yang terdiri dari guru-guru dan siswa-siswa perwakilan kelas; segmen ketiga adalah kesempatan bagi paslon untuk memberikan closing statement atau pernyataan penutup. Debat ini diselenggarakan dan disiarkan langsung melalui akun YouTube resmi SMAN 1 Ponggok.
Debat ini berlangsung dengan seru dan menarik. Setiap paslon menunjukkan keunggulan dan kelebihan mereka dalam menyampaikan gagasan dan solusi untuk memajukan SMAN 1 Ponggok. Mereka juga saling memberikan kritik dan saran yang konstruktif dan bermartabat. Tidak ada adu mulut atau saling menjatuhkan yang terjadi di antara mereka. Panelis juga memberikan pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang relevan dan menantang untuk menguji kemampuan dan kompetensi paslon. Selain itu, debat ini juga mendapat respons positif dari para penonton yang menyaksikan secara online. Mereka memberikan dukungan dan apresiasi kepada paslon favorit mereka melalui kolom komentar.
Debat ini merupakan salah satu bentuk implementasi dari proyek penguatan profil pelajar Pancasila yang dilaksanakan oleh SMAN 1 Ponggok sejak tahun 2023. Proyek ini bertujuan untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai Pancasila dalam diri siswa sebagai generasi penerus bangsa. Proyek ini juga meliputi kegiatan-kegiatan lain seperti seminar, diskusi, lomba, sosialisasi, pengabdian masyarakat, dll. Proyek ini diharapkan dapat membentuk siswa yang memiliki sikap demokratis, toleran, nasionalis, mandiri, dan bertanggung jawab.
